INIHKD 2026

our Shared Waters Alliance

The International Network for Indigenous Health and Knowledge Development (INIHKD) is a shared waters alliance advancing health, healing, and knowledge sovereignty across nations.

Since its inception in 2002, INIHKD has brought together Indigenous leaders, researchers, practitioners, and communities to co-design solutions to shared challenges and reimagine the systems shaping our collective futures.

a movement for change

INIHKD is a movement for change and a platform where the world moves from global challenges to Indigenous solutions. Every gathering, such as the upcoming Reclaiming Indigenous Ecologies of Love for Future Generations (RIEL FFG) in Rarotonga, Cook Islands, acts as a living laboratory for Indigenous systems leadership, where dialogue and action are grounded in relationships of trust, reciprocity, and care.

Built on collective thrivance

Through its three interconnected areas of focus, INIHKD is building a new kind of global infrastructure, one we tell our own stories, centers Indigenous leadership, strengthens ecological and cultural outcomes, and invests in futures of wellbeing, dignity, and collective thrivance.
